GEOSYS
I'm presently working part-time for a company named GEOSYS, doing R&D on automating collection and processing of imagery from a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for mapping, disaster management, urban planning, etc... The company is research-motivated and laid-back, and they're trying to hire a new person soon.
They need someone full-time, so, this may not be applicable for the majority of grads, but I'm hoping someone might be graduating soon or know a friend that might be interested (feel free to forward as you see fit). The primary requirements are that you be a good C++ programmer (experience with OO) and have taken the computer vision courses (505 & 525). Other courses which are pertinent are optimization (542), machine learning (540), algorithms and parallel computation. These are not requisites but you would definitely be able to use what you learned in them. The work is R&D, so there is definitely a strong research and learning aspect to the job!
The company is small, but growing, so there are plenty of opportunities to take leadership. We have several funded research projects on the go, another that I'm currently developing, and part of your duties will be to pursue new directions that you come up with. Babak, the president, is easy going (he worked at MacDonald Dettwiler before he started this company) and is flexible on working hours.
If you'd like to hear more details, or have any questions, please let me know and we'll talk.
